Worshipful Master William Johnson and the brothers of Bayou City #228 visited Kashmere Elementary to complete their Annual Christmas Charity Event.
Worshipful Master Johnson and several brothers of the lodge traveled to the school on Friday December 18th at 1:30 pm to meet with Principal Bush and his staff to provide their gifts. This is the first year that Bayou City #228 has had the privilege to meet those selected to receive the bicycles that were generously donated by the Craft.
The brothers then had the opportunity to spend a few quality minutes with the children to personally present them with an early Christmas Gift and to see their eyes light up with genuine gratitude.
Bro Sr. Warden Chris Houston provided an impromptu speech expressing how proud we are of the educational effort displayed thus far this year and how honored we were to have them selected as recipients. Bro Sr. Stewart Derek Heath advised the children to always practice safety while riding their bikes.
Not only are they excellent students but also in need of our support. The family of one of the children has fallen on tough times and had to be relocated to a weekly hotel thus the bike may be her only gift. The Sons of Solomon Motorcycle Club and Bayou City #228 also provided fifty McDonalds gift cards to the school, which will be distributed by the staff to students who excel in academics.
Worshipful Master Johnson, in his holiday spirit, provided each of the selected children with a gift card to enjoy a meal at McDonalds.
In closing, thank you to all who attended and for those who desired to attend but could not. Bayou City Lodge #228 continues to show our commitment to one of the three Principle Rounds…
