The Brothers of Bayou City Lodge #228 completed the second installation of this Masonic Years’ Underwear Socks and Water Drive. The Worshipful Master and several brothers of the lodge along with a few of our current Fellow Craft class journeyed to the Minute Maid Park area to distribute the items generously donated by the Craft. The Lodge was able to support a minimum of 50 men and women who are less fortunate and provide them with a package containing a pair of underwear and socks. We also provided several hundred bottles of cold water to those in the area. Additionally, The Worshipful Master noticed a brother in extremely worn sandals and that he was bleeding through his socks. Without hesitation, he removed his shoes and gave them to the brother to provide him with a little more comfort. His comment afterward was, “he needed those shoes much more than I did.”
The Brothers of Bayou City Lodge #228 want to say Thank You to all who attended and for those who desired to but could not. This is yet another opportunity for Bayou City Lodge #228 to show our commitment to one of the Principle Rounds of Freemasonry… CHARITY!
